The Beer Baron Bar & Kitchen, Santa Rosa, CA, USA

This is a gonna be a short review and, thus, I do need to apologise to the Beer Baron… but, in my defence, we’d just been around the corner at Russian River Brewing, so my note taking was not at its peak…

The Scores

• The Specs: Drums and flats. RATING 5.
• The Sauce: Probably not Frank’s but a tasty hot sauce all the same. To my uncultured palate, the flavour seemed a mix of hot sauce and parmesan, making it a very rich experience. RATING: 6
• Crunch: Perfectly cooked. Slow roasted. Juicy. Tasty chicken. Oven baked so not necessarily the crispiness you might get from a deep fry.  RATING: 9
• Serving size & price/Value for Money: 8 or 10 flats, for USD$15. Back in that AU$2-ish range so value not great, nor terrible. RATING:6
• Heat/spice level: Not that spicy. Could probably have eaten more but that aforementioned parmesan really becomes a bit much. RATING: 5
• Flavour: Tasty enough. To a point. Again… that parmesan. My dining mate stole a wing and I was more than happy to let him have it. RATING 6
• Celery: Celery. And Carrots. RATING: 4.
• Dipping Sauce: Blue Cheese. With chunks! RATING: 5 
• Other Stuff: Beer Baron is a cool place, in a cool town. Sitting on the corner of 4^th St., and opposite Courthouse Square, it’s a venue obviously aware of craft beer tourism in Santa Rosa. As such, the bar has an excellent array of beer taps, as well as a huge liquor range too. If you’re in town, a visit is definitely recommended. Just perhaps not for the wings…  RATING 8.

OVERALL RATING 54/80. 

No Moist Towelettes and not really a great showing for the Beer Baron’s slow roasted wings. That said, and its becoming tedious, the small things matter – blue cheese sauce, and celery sticks to dip in said sauce!
