On the Wing, Northcote VIC

Soooo.... it had been while between Buffalo Wing feasts and I was getting a bit touchy... so, I committed the sin, I did the deed, I cast shame on the Buffalo (sauce) brethren... I ordered wings on Uber Eats! I know... they were always going to be bad. That's how UberEats works.

But hey, lets run The Rules across this rubbish and see where we land.

The Scores

• The Specs: Flats and drums. This is my world, and I want jointed wings. Am I wrong?  RATING: 5.
• The Sauce: Actually, I think that On the Wing uses Franks! But, hey man, how about adding some butter to that? Straight Franks is fine but its not why we're here! Still, Franks is Franks. RATING: 7
• Crunch: Hehehehehe... Ubereats was never gonna deliver crunch. But this place didn't even try. I gather these wings were warmed in a pizza oven, as they reminded me of the atrocities that are Dominos' wings... RATING: 1
• Serving size & price/Value for Money: $24 or so for 12 wings. Decent enough value on Ubereats but I had to cash in a deal to get that. RATING: 4
• Heat/spice level: So, hey, its basically just Franks Hot Sauce, so the heat was on point. Probably too spicy to consider an immediate re-order, but I don't think On the Wing is a real venue anyway... Rating: 8
• Flavour: Franks, no butter. Good, not great. RATING 7
• Celery: Was there Celery sticks? No! There was not! RATING: 0.
• Dipping Sauce: Blue Cheese? No Blue Cheese!. RATING: 0. 
• Other Stuff: .... RATING 3.

OVERALL RATING 35/80. No bonus points; no moist towelettes for post-wing clean up. 

Amazingly, despite my personal ideals going in, these were not the worst wings thus far reviewed. Perhaps I need to have a good hard look at myself - or, indeed, go back and re-visit The Leadbetter Hotel...

Either way, impossible to recommend On The Wing (Northcote), via UberEats. Just Don't Do it.
