In Toronto for one night only, visiting an old friend, lo and behold... our pub crawl takes us to Boo Radley's - and there's wings on the menu! Thus, therefore, ergo, in we go! Let's run the Rules over these bad boys!
*Excuse the brevity here again - these wings were mid-pub crawl!*
The Scores
- The Specs: Flats and drums... RATING: 5.
- The Sauce: Apparently these were very good! Which suggests to me that Boo's uses Franks and doesn't wander far from the stereotype. RATING: 7
- Crunch: Clearly deep fried, and crunchy - but not because of any seasoned coating or anything. They were just fried AF... RATING: 7
- Serving size & price/Value for Money: Absolutely no idea. Many beers were had before arriving at Boo's and many more were had afterwards. A (very) quick google suggests maybe USD$10 for half a pound... Seems like maybe that's around AUD$15 for 6-8 wings. Seems reasonable and just about average. RATING: 6
- Heat/spice level: Average heat level here. I'm not looking to get my nose hairs scorched but a bit of danger would be nice... RATING: 5
- Flavour: Delicious, Frank's based wings. Whilst a bit more heat would have been nice, they were bl00dy tasty! RATING 7
- Celery: Was there Celery sticks? Yes! Celery Sticks! And Carrot Sticks! One point off for the carrot sticks... RATING: 4.
- Dipping Sauce: Blue Cheese? No, I don't think so. It was more ranch than anything. And Ranch? Well, just no. RATING: 0.
- Other Stuff: 'Twas a brief stay at Boo Radley's and it was enjoyable. The wings were good, I added a side of Poutine (when in Rome etc etc), and thoroughly enjoyed my visit. Would I go back, yeah I would. Cool venue. RATING 7.
OVERALL RATING 48/80. No moist towelette bonus...
A respectable 7th place (at time of writing) for Boo's. If I'm honest, it was a big night, and the details are a little foggy. That said, Boo's was a fun place, Toronto was a fun town, and I'm dead keen to go back again.
