Able Baker Brewing, Las Vegas NV, USA

First stop on a whirlwind trip to the US of A, Las Vegas! In town for just one night, my flight was delayed, its already almost 10pm, and there's not a minute to spare!

Following a tip from the legend that I met at Beer Zombies earlier in the night, Able Baker Brewing ponies up as my source of locally brewed IPA for the evening. But, wait, what's that on the kitchen menu? Beer Brined Buffalo Wings? You know what that means!

Lets Run The Rules against Able Baker's Arts District Kitchen buffalo wings!

The Scores

• The Specs: Flats and drums... These wings were massive; Atomic-sized!  RATING: 5.
• The Sauce: Tasty sauce. Pretty sure this isn't Franks but some other local hot sauce. The wings are described on the menu as 'Buffalo' and given the presence of a vinegar-based hot sauce here, its hard to deny them that moniker. RATING: 6
• Crunch: Deep Fried AF! The Able Baker wings are seriously crunchy! Whilst there doesn't appear to be any sort of flour or seasoning here, these little guys have spent so much time in the hot oil that the crunch levels are HUGE.  RATING: 8
• Serving size & price/Value for Money: A bowl of rather large Buffalo Wings for USD $17; Supposedly, its 1.5lbs which is who knows how much but I can count 8 wings here. In real money, the value here is about AUD$3.25 per wing...  RATING: 4
• Heat/spice level: For this Wing Commander, I coulda used a bit more heat here. RATING: 5
• Flavour: Tasty enough, huge, and brined before cooking, allowing for huge crunch and juicy, tender insides. Would I order them again? I don't think I would... RATING 6
• Celery: Was there Celery sticks? No... RATING: 0.
• Dipping Sauce: Blue Cheese? Yes, Blue Cheese! Packed in tiny takeaway tubs as it may have been, there was Blue Cheese!. RATING: 5. 
• Other Stuff: Its a brewery! There was IPA - the Buffalo Wing's perfect partner! Able Baker's flagship brew appears to be the Atomic Duck IPA  - which matched the wings nicely - but all three hoppy beers that I squeezed in before close were very, very tasty. All in all, a nice venue, a fun place, good beers, friendly staff, and I'd look forward to a return next time I'm in Vegas. RATING 8.

OVERALL RATING 47/80. No bonus points; no moist towelettes for post-wing clean up. 

As the Wing table builds, it would appear that 47-48 is around your average wing score. Its about average. And that's how I'd describe Able Baker's Wings - not goo, not bad, just fine.
